Hello!
Welcome to 2012 third party!
The following is a brief statement of the mission of the 2012 Third Party web site.
2012 third party (http://www.2012thirdparty.com) is my idea for the home of a movement for which the time has arrived.
Both major political parties in the United States of America are too beholden to special interest groups to act on behalf of, and in the best interests of, the American People.
Therefore, the time has arrived for the creation of a new, third party. I refuse to refer to it as "political" because, quite frankly, "political" has become, in my mind, a dirtier word than any word that the F.C.C. has ever banned. We may not like to hear the famous "four-letter words" but none of those has ever damaged the American dream to the extent that the current political parties have damaged it.
In fact, I would estimate that for most Americans, these political parties have reduced the American Dream to the status of fantasy; it is something we fantasize about but not something we believe can actually happen to us.
The American Dream of acquiring an education, working hard, and building our own small empire is gone. What is the American Dream today? For most, the American Dream now consists of winning the lottery. We do not believe we can acquire wealth through intelligent and hard work. We believe that pure chance is our best means of acquiring wealth.
2012 third party… a real second choice.
How did we arrive at this sad state of affairs?
It is due to the career politicians and bureaucrats who, despite their protestations of care about and concern for the citizens of America, act in their own best interest. Since special interest groups are aligned with the best interests of the politicians and bureaucrats, the special interest groups are served better than the American citizenry.
Since the special interest groups that have more resources are more capable of serving the interests of the politicians and bureaucrats, they are served better than the special interest groups with less money. It is in this way that both major political parties have grown to serve, primarily, the interests of the wealthy.
Persons move through a revolving door from high government posts where they regulate certain industries to high positions in corporations in the industries that they regulated while in government; then they return to government positions similar to the ones that they held previously. These actions occur repeatedly throughout the government. How objective can these persons be?
Why is it that so many congressmen and senators seem to grow richer while they are "serving" the public? What special knowledge could allow this to happen?
Why do members of congress and the senate pass laws for Americans and then exempt themselves? If they really believed that the laws served the best interests of the American people, why would they have any objections to being subject to those laws?
Why would the Supreme Court rule in favor of allowing corporations to contribute unlimited amounts of money to political campaigns?
Please do not misinterpret what I am writing. I am not indicting every single Republican or every single Democrat or every single bureaucrat. There are some fine members of both parties and some fine bureaucrats. I am that odd fellow who believes that both the President and Ron Paul have the best interests of the American public in their hearts.
Why on Earth would I be thinking about the 2012 election now... just days before the 2010 mid-term election? It is because of this: this election will change nothing that really matters.
2012 third party… the time has arrived.
Our economy will not really improve (despite attempts to make the state of the economy appear to improve). Keep track of the economy through the shadow stats (http://www.shadowstats.com/) web site or a similar source, where you can retrieve the accurate and meaningful statistics for unemployment, inflation, housing, etc. Statistics can be manipulated by controlling the data that is used to compute those statistics. Therefore, either you need to be able to acquire the raw data for yourself and to compute the statistics therefrom, or you need to have a source that you can trust from which you may acquire accurate statistics. In my estimation, www.shadowstats.com is that source.
2012 third party… the time has come.
The health care bill will not change. America needed what the President envisioned… a single-payer system. I believe the President’s ideal was hijacked in congress by special interests. Every American will be required to acquire insurance from a group of private health insurance companies. I know that I would love to be in a position where the government required that every American buy a widget from me. You can bet the quality of my widgets would go down and the price would go up. When that happens to health care, remember that this is not the system the President wanted… and remember where you read this analysis.
2012 third party… the time is now for a real second choice.
As I wrote earlier in this statement, I believe neither that all Republicans, all Democrats and all bureaucrats, are evil, nor that they are all “sold out” to special interest groups.
I encourage those who are good and loyal servants to the American People, who wish to rebuild the American Dream for the American People and wish to resurrect the Dream that should be America, and who are disgusted with the current state of “say this but do that” politics, to join me in this effort.
The time has arrived. Action must be taken or the Dream will be lost forever.
2012 Third Party.
